It is a parametric design tool for sheet metal companies; useful for creating 3D models of sheet metal parts such as brackets, boxes, supports, shelves and other similar equipment.
Based on the ACIS® 3D geometric modeller and technology developed by FCC Software, COMPUTES/BEND provides the most popular features encountered in sheet metal working companies.
The modeling of the parts is completely parametric. All dimensions can be changed at any time and the model is updated instantly. Cooperation with leading bending machine manufacturers has significantly influenced the product.
In COMPUTES/BEND you can work with both the developed model and the 3D folded model.
The 3D model can be exported to other CAD systems as STEP or SAT files, and the 2D flat model can be exported in DXF or DWG format.
COMPUTES/BEND uses the latest programming technology and has CAD software with a modern user interface.
The design of folds, flanges and holes is extremely quick and easy.
The sheet metal part is created completely parametric. All dimensions can be changed at any time and the model is updated instantly.
Bend shrinkage is applied automatically to ensure a precise size of the developed model. Line types and colors can be modified to best represent the exported geometry; information about the bend angle wings can be included in the dxf.
3D model views can be generated in ISO or ANSI style and exported as DXF files.
The associativity between the 3D model and the 2D model developed allows you to work simultaneously in both modes.
The selection of tools according to the radii of curvature results in correct dimensions during modelling.
Flanges can be created using different options of positioning. Different methods of aligning the folds can be selected.
You can work with construction lines to create relationships between these lines, holes and edges.
You can change the dimensions via dialog boxes or by dragging and dropping the lines with “click and drag”.
COMPUTES/BEND 2D Converter
Transforms the dxf into a solid, allows you to correctly manage its withdrawals and add drains near the edges and at the sides of the folds.
It is an application that allows to obtain a three-dimensional solid from the 2D drawing of the developed view.
Through this module you can select the 2D development view, identify the bending lines and apply the appropriate angles to recreate the corresponding 3D solid.
In case the 2D drawing lacks fold or edge drains, the user will have the tools to add them, edit them, modify them in shape, size and position.
The correct shrinkage factor is guaranteed by an automatic procedure that calculates the K factor applied to the development view from the other views of the table.
It is an application for companies that process sheet metal that allows them to develop 3D models. Based on the ACIS Geometric 3D modeller and technology developed by FCC Software, COMPUTES/BEND provides the most complete sheet metal development solution currently available. Every single 3D model can be developed.
The imported 3D model can be a solid or a surface. COMPUTES/BEND Unfolder generates a flat model even from the most complex geometries, in an easy and immediate way.
The K-factor crease compensation can be modified to create an even more accurate developed model.
All those who work sheet metal, independent of the CAD system used, can benefit from using COMPUTES/BEND Unfolder. COMPUTES/BEND uses the latest programming technology and has software that guarantees the highest quality of precision.

COMPUTES/BEND Bend Simulator
It is the complete software solution for sheet metal working. 3D models can be designed from scratch or imported from any other CAD system. Bend simulation is performed and NC code is generated for the most common controls.
Machine productivity is the main factor for profitable production. Off-line programming is a fast tool to achieve this. Through the simulation of the bending process it is possible to verify the feasibility of the product according to the tools available and the technical specifications of the machine.
COMPUTES/BEND Bend Simulator is easy to learn and use and is the tool that speeds up off-line work and minimizes the time when the machine is unproductive.
3D assemblies created in major CAD systems that include both solid models and surfaces, can be imported into COMPUTES/BEND Unfolder. The main formats available for direct file exchange are: ACIS SAT, STEP, IGES
The programming of an off-line press brake offers many advantages in terms of productivity and economy. The main benefits are:
- Drastic reduction in downtime.
Instead of occupying the machine by programming from the control, production progresses, while new programs are created directly on a PC.
- Reduced programming time.
Off-line programming not only helps to avoid machine downtime, but makes the whole process faster.
- Faster machine preparation.
Through documentation and production sheets the machine preparation and folding phase is more efficient.
By creating the model developed in an extremely accurate manner, the scrap of the first parts is greatly reduced. The desired result is achieved from the first part!
Thanks to off-line programming it is possible to discover and avoid potential production problems before the part is introduced into the production process. The problems that arise during production are always the most expensive.
With a highly visual interface it is easy to create programs easily and efficiently. Calibrating the feedback, automatically searching for the bend sequence, and optimizing the tools are just a few examples of how COMPUTES/BEND can help you create programs quickly.
All the advantages are achieved through the use of advanced technologies, but always easy to use. Throughout the entire process, the user can obtain the help of tool selection, calculation of an optimal bending sequence and automatic positioning of the feedback.
